We are a long established PAT company who have been testing and reporting on electrical equipment since 1991. We pride ourselves on our professional expertise and always ensure that our test equipment and procedures comply with the latest industry guidelines.
WHO WE ARE
We are a family company that became limited over 26 years ago. We were initially concerned with equipment repair and service for educational laboratories and technology workshops, we were testing & certifying our repairs before regulations were published generally. From 1990 we developed our health and safety services, offering a more advanced and meaningful programme of portable appliance testing to keep in line with technological advances within the industry. We continually upgrade our equipment, ensuring we always have the best at our disposal and our engineers are trained to ensure they have the most current knowledge to match, because of this we are confident that we can provide the most professional service available at a very competitive price. Our roots lie in instrument engineering, this is important when analysing test values & confirming safety rather than just applying test procedure by rote. Because of this we still repair, build & modify equipment as required.

SERVICES WE PROVIDE
PROFESSIONAL PORTABLE APPLIANCE TESTING
Portable Appliance Testing is used to ensure you conform to regulations regarding electrical safety for your staff and/or customers. It is usually repeated every 12 to 14 months, Scientia Services can remind you when your establishment is due for retest. All testing is carried out by fully qualified professionals who regularly attend update courses and who are paid a fixed salary - not per appliance.
DISCO & STAGE LIGHTING HIRE AND INSTALLATION
Our highly trained engineers can install, repair, maintain and safety test your stage lighting. We also hire stage lighting systems, suitable for discos, DJ events (weddings, parties etc.), school productions or similar, and can also install new permanent systems tailored to meet your requirements. Whatever you need in terms of lighting requirements - we are here to help.
COMPREHENSIVE EQUIPMENT REPAIR
Many repairs are undertaken by our engineers during routine PAT testing, however more complicated repairs, for instance when spare parts are required, usually require repair off site. Repairs needed that are not done at sites which use Scientia Services for Portable Appliance Testing do incur an additional charge & we will advise on the cost & viability of any workshop repair.
